Photoshop: Transform - how to use the tool
For example, by transforming, you can scale or distort your image in Photoshop. You can find out which options you have with this article.
The possibilities with the transform tool
There are several commands available in the "Edit"> Transform "menu to move a layer.
- With "Scale" you pull the mouse on the corner handles and thus change the size of an area. If you hold down the [Shift] key while dragging, the proportions of the image are retained.
- To “rotate” a layer, place the mouse pointer in a corner of the frame. The pointer now becomes a curved double arrow. You can rotate the area by holding down the left mouse button and moving the mouse pointer.
- With "Tilt" you can warp your photo vertically and horizontally. Hold down the [Ctrl] + [Shift] keys and drag one of the handles. The mouse pointer changes to a white arrow head with a black double arrow.
- To "distort" a layer, hold down the [Ctrl] key and drag the handles with the mouse.
- To distort your image in perspective, press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Shift] and drag a corner handle. The pointer is now a gray arrowhead.
- With "Deform" you can change the shape of the layer or an object. Drag the grid lines with the mouse to try this effect.
- The commands "Rotate 180 °", "Rotate 90 ° in UZS", "Rotate 90 ° against UZS" rotate your object clockwise or counterclockwise.
- The "Mirror" command mirrors your layer vertically or horizontally, depending on the selection.
