Install Photoshop on Ubuntu - Here's how
The professional image editing program Photoshop can also be installed on Ubuntu using the runtime environment WINE. We show you which steps are necessary.
Preparation: Install WINE
The easiest way to install the WINE runtime environment is via the terminal.
- Open the terminal and enter the command "wget //www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks" to download WINE.
- With the command "sh winetricks msxml6 gdiplus gecko vcrun2005", WINE is installed on your computer.
- In order for Photoshop to run properly later, you need a few Microsoft fonts. You load it with the command "sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts".
Install Photoshop on Ubuntu
- Now open WINE and navigate to "C: \ Windows \ System32".
- Place the two files "msvcr80.dll" and "atmlib.dll" in this folder.
- Now you can easily install Photoshop using the setup like a Windows computer.
