Photoshop: teeth whitening - a tutorial
In this tutorial, we will show you how to whiten a person's teeth in Photoshop and thus create a bright white smile.
Tutorial: whiten teeth in Photoshop
To whiten teeth in Photoshop, open the image and follow these steps:
- Make a copy of the background layer. To do this, right-click on the level in the right column and click on "Duplicate level".
- Select the sponge tool in the bar on the left of the screen. If it doesn't appear, hold down the Dodge Tool for a few seconds. The sponge tool is then displayed in a submenu.
- Select the "Reduce Saturation" mode in the bar at the top of the screen. Then set the flow to 100 percent.
- Right-click on the image and choose a size that is a maximum of a quarter the size of a single tooth on your image.
- Set the hardness to between zero and 20 percent.
- Carefully run the sponge tool over the teeth you want to whiten.
- When you're done, choose the Dodge tool and set the exposure at the top of the screen to about five percent. Now run over all teeth to be whitened again.
- As soon as you are satisfied with the result, you can save the finished image on your PC using the "File" and "Save as" tabs.
