Install the Play Store with Cyanogenmod - Here's how
If you use Cyanogenmod on your Android smartphone, you have to install the Google Play Store separately. We'll show you how to do it step by step.
CyanogenMod: Download Google Play Store as ZIP
- If you open the OpenGApps website, you can choose between various packages.
- Decide on a platform, the correct Android version and a variant of the GApps.
- The more or less large ZIP file is downloaded using the download button.
- It is recommended to save the ZIP file on an SD card. Alternatively, you can also use the internal memory.
Android: Install Play Store with Cyanogenmod
- First boot your Android smartphone in recovery mode.
- Use the arrow keys to select "install zip" and then "choose zip from sdcard". Find the ZIP file and select it. The Google Apps are now installed, including Gmail, the Play Store or Hangout.
- Once the installation is complete, return to the main menu and reboot your smartphone. The GApps should now be installed.
- If you only want the Play Store and no other Google apps, you can remove all unnecessary tools with an app like "Root Uninstaller".
