PlayStation 3 does not recognize controllers - this may be the reason
If the PlayStation 3 no longer recognizes the controller, there is usually only a small error. We show you how the PS3 correctly recognizes the controller and how you can continue playing.
PlayStation 3 does not recognize controllers - so you get the PS3 fit again
- Connect: Remove the controller from the USB port, turn off the PS3 and disconnect the console from the power. Turn the power back on after a few seconds and reconnect the controller using the USB cable. Start the PS3 and try the connection again.
- Reset: Take a sharp object, such as a ballpoint pen or paper clip, and press it into the hole on the back of the controller for a few seconds. Try the connection again after the reset.
- Exchange: Change the USB cable and the controller, or borrow the two components from a friend. How to find out whether the problem is with the controller or the cable.
- Controller: Especially if the controller has already been through a lot, small plug connections can come loose in the controller. Unscrew the controller and see if everything looks fine or connections are broken / loose.
- Repair: If none of this helps, you can have the controller checked and repaired by a professional. If the PS3 is still within the warranty period, you can criticize the defect at the manufacturer.
