Playstation 3: change NAT type - how it works
This guide shows you how to change the NAT type on the PlayStation 3.
Change NAT type for PlayStation 3: Here's how
- Open the Internet connection settings on your PlayStation 3 and select "Custom".
- In the next step, select the appropriate connection method and then "Enter manually".
- Click on your network and, if necessary, the corresponding security key. Also enter your WiFi password if you are using WiFi.
- Select the "PPPoE" option under "Setting the IP address" and enter your user data in the next step. You can find this in the documents of your internet provider.
- Under "DNS Settings" click on "Automatic" and also select the option "Automatic" under "MTU". Click "Do not use" under "Proxy Server" and activate "UPnP" in the next step.
- Then test your connection. With "NAT type 1" you can use all functions of the PS3 without restrictions.
