PMI on TV: what does that mean?
If you want to buy a LG TV, you often come across the abbreviation "PMI". You can find out what this means and what you can think of it in this article.
LG: What does "PMI" mean for TVs?
- PMI stands for "Picture Mastering Index" and has been used by LG since 2015 to describe the picture quality of televisions. The MCI value was previously used for this. The information is comparable to the Samsung size PQI.
- In order to calculate the PMI of a TV, the clarity, the contrast and the color representation are included. For this, different factors have to be taken into account, which influence the individual values and the overall information.
- In general, the higher the PMI of a TV, the better the picture quality, according to LG. A TV with a PMI of 900 should therefore produce a better picture than a device with a PMI of 300.
