In "Pokémon GO" you can collect "Bans" through various actions and thus be excluded from the game. In this practical tip, we show you which actions you can use to risk a ban.
Cheats and hacks in "Pokémon GO" lead to the spell
As in many other game apps, cheats and hacks are neither welcome nor allowed. You can risk being banned and should not do any of the following.
- If you use software to obfuscate or manipulate your GPS data, you can be banned. This is the case, for example, if, according to the GPS, you are in New York while you are actually in Berlin.
- The reason is that this behavior is unfair to other users who honestly catch their Pokémon. You should therefore avoid any manipulation in order to be on the safe side.
"Pokémon Go" update: jailbreak or root cause a ban
With the "Pokémon Go" update 0.37.0 for Android and 1.7.0 for iOS, players will also be excluded in the future if you use a smartphone with a jailbreak or root.
- Anyone who has changed their iOS device with a jailbreak or their Android device with a root runs the risk of being banned by the game.
- This should actually fight cheaters more effectively, but now honest "Pokémon GO" players are also excluded by this measure. After the update, you can no longer access the popular game or log in.
- If you have an Android phone with root, you can use the Mod Magisk to bypass this lock. No mod is currently available for iOS devices.
