With the eighth generation of Pokémon, the Sword and Shield editions, no new types appeared, but you should refresh your knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses in combat. In this practical tip, we will show you how to win every fight.
These types help in the fight against fire, water and plant Pokémon in sword and shield
The three starters of Pokémon Sword and Shield are, as always, of the water, fire and plant type. Most Pokémon types can already be derived from their appearance, name or location. If you've caught a Pokémon, you can also find out in its report. By the way, Pokémon don't just learn attacks that match their type. Use versatile attacks to surprise your opponents.
- Soil, rock and water are very effective against fire Pokémon . You will hardly cause any damage with attacks of the types beetle, steel, fire, plant, ice and fairy.
- Plant and electric attacks should be used against water Pokémon . You would rather not use steel, fire, water and ice attacks.
- You can counter plant Pokémon with fire, flight, poison, beetles and ice. Soil, water, plants and electric attacks won't do you much good.
Strengths and weaknesses of all other types
Some Pokémon types are also completely resistant to others. You will then do no damage with the respective attack.
- In normal Pokémon, the best way to attack is with combat. They are resistant to mind attacks.
- Your flight, psycho and fairy Pokémon become important against the types of combat . With rock, beetle and unlight you do little damage.
- Flight Pokémon are vulnerable to rock, electrical, and ice attacks. They are completely resistant to ground attacks. Combat, beetles and plants hardly harm them.
- Attack poison Pokémon with ground and psycho. Fight, poison, beetle, plant and fairy are not effective.
- Attacks of the types water, plant and ice help against ground Pokémon . Poison and rock are at a disadvantage. They are resistant to electronics.
- Help with an enemy of the rock type Fight, soil, steel, water and plants. Normal, flight, poison, and fire will do little damage.
- Poison Pokémon can be defeated with flight, rock and fire. Combat, soil and plant attacks are too weak.
- Spirit Pokémon have two resistances: Normal and Combat. They defeat them with spirit and unlight. Poison and beetles are of little use.
- Steel-type Pokémon are difficult to defeat, and most other types are barely effective against them. You will only be able to win against them with battle, ground or fire. Normal, flight, rock, beetle, steel, plant, psycho, ice, dragon and fairy do little damage. They are also resistant to the poison type.
- You win against Elektro-Pokémon with Boden. Flight, steel and electric attacks should not be used.
- Beetles, ghosts and unlight attacks will defeat Psycho-Pokémon . Combat and psycho, on the other hand, do little harm.
- Ice Pokémon are susceptible to four types: fight, rock, steel and fire. Ice against ice doesn't work for that.
- Dragons can be defeated with ice, dragons and fairy attacks. Fire, water, plants and electronics are too weak against them.
- Unlight Pokémon are beaten by combat, beetles, and fairy attacks. They are completely resistant to psychological attacks. The Beetle and Unlight types won't do you much good either.
- For a fairy opponent, it is best to use poison or steel attacks. Combat, beetles and unlight are at a disadvantage here. They are resistant to dragon attacks.
