Pokémon X & Y: Mega Evolution - what is it?
If you play Pokemon, you have probably heard of the "Mega Evolution" in the X and Y editions. In this practical tip, we will inform you about this new development.
Mega development in Pokemon X & Y - that's the reason
- A "mega development" is a temporary development of individual, selected Pokemon. This development continues during a fight and only one Pokemon can develop per fight - even in team battles.
- For the Mega Development you need a Mega Stone that belongs specifically to your Pokemon. For example, a "Bisaflor" can only develop into a "Mega Bisaflor" with the help of its own mega stone.
- This special form of development also changes the appearance of the Pokemon.
- The Pokemon also learn new attacks, take on new stats, and can even change the type of poke.
- Mega development has the highest priority after the Pokemon swap. It is therefore completed before an opponent's attack and your Pokemon is stronger in the following round.
- However, the Pokemon keep their original name, with the word "Mega" in front of the name.
Pokemon and Mega Pokemon: These developments exist
There are numerous Pokemon in Editions X and Y that can go through a mega development:
- First generation starter Pokemon: The starters from the first editions support the mega development. So Bisaflor becomes Mega-Bisaflor, Turtok to Mega-Turtok and Charizard to Mega-Charizard. With Charizard, the external appearance even changes depending on the edition.
- Other starter Pokemon: The starters Gewaldro, Lohgock and Sumpex also have a corresponding mega development.
- Difficult to find Pokémon with mega development: Aerodactyl, Garados, Despotar, Lucario and Gengar. The appearance of "Mewtu" changes depending on the edition.
- Classic Pokemon that are included from the third edition at the latest: Hundemon, Kangama, Pinsir, Guardevoir, Voltenso and Altaria
