Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green: Tips and Cheats
The Pokémon Editions Fire Red and Leaf Green are the remakes of the very first games in the series. We have summarized the best tips and cheats for the pocket monster offshoot for the Game Boy Advance for you here.
Tips and tricks for Pokemon fire red and leaf green
- The goal of any Pokémon game is to complete the Pokédex. To collect all Pokemon, you need to swap them with the other editions.
- After you defeat the top four, you can bring Pokemon from the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald editions to your version. To do this, go to island 1, where the time capsule is located.
- On the first three islands, you can teach your starter pokemon a very powerful attack. This also applies to starters from other generations. The attacks that can be learned are aqua howitzers, fire cannons or fauna statues.
- On the Eiland Islands you will find the missing Pokemon from the Jotho region, which you cannot exchange for your game from Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire.
- The Duel Tower is located on Eiland 7. If you have problems fighting, have your pocket monster learn powerful attacks from the learner and train regularly.
- Shiny Pokemon appear in fiery red and leaf green, extremely rare versions of normal Pokemon with a special coloring. To increase the chance of a shiny, fight as many fights as possible in the area of normal Pokemon.
Locations of legendary Pokemon
There are also a lot of legendary Pokemon to catch in these offshoots. Usually there is only one of its kind and can be found under certain conditions.
- You stumble upon the three birds Artkos, Zapdos and Lavados during the course of the game. The first bird is on the sea foam islands, Zapdos is in the power plant, which you can reach on route 10 with surfers, and you can catch lavados on island 1.
- Mewtwo is also available in fire red and leaf green. This Pokemon is in the Azuria Cave, which is only accessible after you defeat the top four.
- The swift trio of big cats consisting of suicune, raikou and duck appear by chance on the mainland. Which of the three Pokemon you encounter depends on the choice of your starter.
- Suicune, Raikou and Entei like to escape from fights even before your turn. Team up with Pokémon with the special ability of blocking or attacks like horror look to prevent escape.
- The rare Pokemon Deoxys is only partially catchable in the game. It is located on island 9, which can only be reached with the Aurora ticket. You will not receive this ticket in the normal course of the game, but only if you have participated in the Pokemon Tour 2005.
- You also need the special ticket for Lugia and Ho-Oh, as they are on Eiland 8.
Cheats in Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green
In the games Pokemon Red and Blue, on which the remakes are based, there were still in-game cheats. These no longer work in Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green.
- In the past, cheats could be used to catch Mew, clone or level Pokemon, and reproduce items. Fire red and leaf green no longer allow these tricks.
- The alternative to access the special Pokemon via the Aurora ticket afterwards is to use external cheats. You can get the ticket via cheat modules, but you run the risk of making your game unusable.
The Pokémon Editions Fire Red and Leaf Green are compatible with the Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald versions from the same generation. We will introduce you to the best cheats for these Game Boy Advance offshoots in another practical tip.
