Pokemon GO: add Pokestop - does it work?
Adding Pokestops is unfortunately not easily possible in Pokemon Go. We'll show you what options you still have.
Add new Pokestops in Pokemon GO
- With the launch of Pokemon GO, the developers of Niantic Labs have thought of a lot. It was also possible to suggest new Pokestops from the start.
- After about two weeks, the function to suggest new Pokestops was deactivated again. There were simply too many requests for new arenas and pokestops.
- You can find the relevant forms on the following Pokemon GO website. The appropriate form is not yet online again.
Ingress: Add Pokestops via detours
- There is now a new way to add Pokestops in Pokemon GO. All you have to do is download the free Ingress app.
- The game Ingress comes from the same developer and uses the same map material. Instead of Pokestops, there are portals that try to take two different teams.
- In Ingress you can now add a portal via the scanner. To do this, however, you must make it to at least level 11. In all likelihood, the new portals will also appear as Pokestops in Pokemon GO.
Pokemon Go business model: new Pokestops are coming
- It will likely be a few more weeks before new Pokestop suggestions are accepted. From when such proposals are actually implemented is a completely different question.
- Note that there must be a reasonably good reason for a Pokestop. In practice, however, even simple signs in parks or other places are good for a Pokestop.
- In the future, however, new Pokestops will mainly be created against payment. Shops can then set up a Pokestop at the door for a fee.
