Pokemon GO: create a private group for raids - how it works
In Pokémon GO, if you only want to compete in raids with your friends, you can create a private group. In this article we show how this works and what you need to consider.
Create raids in Pokémon GO: Private Group
If one of the coveted raid bosses appears in an arena, basically every player close to you can join the fight. If you do not want this, you can secure your own raid group with a password (background information on raid).
- To do this, tap on an arena with an active raid boss and select the entry "Private Group".
- Then throw your raid pass to the Pokémon.
- On the new screen, tap the "Create Group" button at the bottom left.
- You will then receive the confirmation "You have successfully joined a group!". In addition, your group code will be displayed in the form of three Pokémon. Make a note of this code and tap "OK".
- All other group members now also select the "Private Group" option in the Raid Arena.
- Your friends enter the group code shown by tapping the Pokémon in the correct order.
- Then click on "Go" and you will land in your raid lobby.
- When all players are logged in, you can select your Pokémon team and start the raid battle after the countdown has ended.
Pokémon GO: That's why a private raid group is worthwhile
Since raid bosses are very strong, there seems to be every reason to play with as many players as possible - even if you don't know them. A private raid group has two decisive advantages:
- Poké Balls: After a successful fight, all players receive bonus premier balls that can be used to catch the raid boss. The distribution is based on the damage done. With a private group, you ensure that the Poké Balls actually all get to your team members - and not to other higher-ranking players who did more damage with stronger Pokémon.
- Cheater: On the other hand, you lock out bots and spoofers with a private raid group. There are many reports of public raid groups on the Internet, in which coaches participate, but would not intervene in the fight. At the same time, no players can be seen near the arena. It is therefore suspected that cheaters are looking for attractive raid bosses and then wait until real player groups defeat the Pokémon and thus make it catchable.
