If Pokémon Go keeps crashing on your smartphone, iPhone or tablet, rescue is now in sight. Because you can fix the bug yourself with a very simple trick. For iOS and Android devices, we will show you which trick will no longer drive the Pokémon app into the heat of white.
Pokémon app: the app no longer crashes on iPhone and iPad
The trick for iPhone and iPad is simple but ingenious. You only have to do the following steps once, then the app will no longer crash.
- If you've just caught a Pokémon and the Poké Ball appears large on the screen, the app could crash again at any moment. In this situation you have to pull up the taskbar from below (see picture).
- Leave the taskbar on top for about 5 seconds, then you can swipe the bar down again.
- Now the app no longer crashes when you catch a Pokémon.
Android: Pokémon Go crashes
Unfortunately, you cannot prevent the error on Android. But at least you can make sure you have the Pokémon in your list after the crash:
- Before the Android app crashes, the backpack and the button for the items disappear. You can already tell from this that the app is greasing right away. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it except wait.
- Next, the app will show the big Poké Ball as usual when you've caught the Pokémon. Then you have to wait until the white Poké Ball ("save" symbol) has disappeared in the upper left corner.
- When the game is saved, you can close the app and restart. The Pokémon from now is on your list.
Tip: Deactivate LTE
Many Pokémon trainers report that they have fewer problems with the app when the LTE connection is deactivated. We can neither confirm nor deny this. But if the app crashes frequently, it is definitely worth trying.
