In the new Pokémon sword and shield generation, you have the opportunity to take part in Dyna raids for the first time. You can find out what you need to consider and a lot more information in the following practical tip.
Dyna raids in Pokémon sword and shield
Dyna raids were introduced in the Pokémon sword and shield editions for the Nintendo Switch. In the nature zone you will find the red Pokémon nests where you can start a Dynamax fight.
- Before you start the raid you will see an overview of your opponent, which is only shown with an outline. The star indicator in the top left shows how strong it is. A star is weak, 5 stars mean super strong.
- The Pokémon you encounter depends on the weather and the exact location in which you are in the natural zone.
- You compete against the Pokémon with four other players, either automated or, if you have Nintendo Switch Online access, online.
- Your opponent stays in his Dynamax form during the whole fight. You can only dynamically maximize one Pokémon for a maximum of three rounds.
- There are often certain rules that apply to fighting, winning or losing. So you only have ten rounds to defeat the boss, or your Pokémon can't be knocked out more than four times.
- If you win the raid, you have the option to catch the Pokémon.
Dyna raids: how to win
These were the basic tips for the special raid battles. We have summarized further tips for you:
- If you click on a nest in which no raid is currently taking place, you can get tidal flats and chunks. You need the former to buy certain items from retailers in the natural zone. Others offer you the opportunity to start a raid in a nest of your choice.
- The raid bosses can also be shiny Pokémon. You can see that during the fight.
- Dyna raid bosses can also have hidden abilities. They often also know rare attacks that they would otherwise not be able to learn. In addition, your stats are often much higher than normal Pokémon in the wild.
- After a successful raid, you can receive rare items, attacks, berries or candies. All of this can be very useful, especially if you're more at the beginning of the game.
- In order to get the Dyna-Raid Pokémon guaranteed, you should definitely pack and use the right balls, for example the net ball for beetle and water opponents.
- Raid events take place at Pokémon Sword and Shield, where you can then catch special Pokémon. At the start of the game, these were, for example, Smettbo and Kramor.
