In Pokemon X and Y, there are a few tips to catch Pokemon to keep the plan going. We'll show you the best.
Catch Pokemons in Pokemon X and Y
As in every version of Pokemon, you start with just one Pokemon and have to expand your troops steadily. Especially in Pokemon X and Y it is very important to catch Pokemon in order to advance in the story.
- Weaknesses: Before attempting to capture a Pokemon, weaken it as much as possible. But don't be too hard and be careful not to completely defeat the Pokemon.
- Attacks: Always make sure that your attacks are not too hard and not too weak. If you weaken your opponent slowly with rather harmless attacks, the Pokemon may escape. Also note that weaknesses of the opponent have a strong impact on their survival. An attack with a water Pokemon on a Fire Pokemon can very quickly lead to you defeating your opponent.
- Deception: The "Deception" attack, which some Pokemons have, is particularly recommended. This leaves the Pokemon only one life point - the optimal weakening.
- Paralyze and stun: If none of your Pokemons have this attack or if it is significantly weaker than your opponent, you should paralyze or stun the Pokemon with an attack.
- The Pokeball: The right Pokeball is particularly important when catching Pokemons. This practical tip tells you which of the 14 pokeballs is best suited for the different combat situations.
- Stay on the ball: You should only try a Pokeball if your opponent has been weakened or incapacitated. If it doesn't work the first time, put another one in the next attack or attack again.
- Note: You can only catch wild Pokemons. Pokeballs on other trainers' Pokemons are blocked.
