Pokemon X and Y: How to train your Pokemon quickly to level 100
In order to quickly train your Pokémon to level 100 in Pokémon X and Y, there are helpful methods that make the process easier and faster. We have put together important tips and advice that every budding Pokémon Champ needs to know.
Exchanged Pokémon get more experience points
As in previous Pokémon games, exchanged Pokémon gain more experience points in battle than Pokémon you caught yourself. In this way you will reach level 100 much faster.
- It's best to short-circuit with other players using Pokémon X and Y's internet and wireless features to trade Pokémon. Maybe you can both offer the same pocket monster to each other. This way, you won't lose the Pokémon in your collection, but you can train it more effectively.
- If you don't know any other players with whom you can trade Pokémon, a look at the GTS (Global Trade Station) is recommended. Here everyone can offer their Pokémon for exchange and demand a desired Pokémon. If you are lucky, you will find a suitable offer and you can exchange a foreign Pokémon that receives more experience points.
- Pokémon that were exchanged via the GTS also get a small bonus experience points more than Pokémon that were usually exchanged. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to find suitable offers via the GTS.
Use helpful items
In Pokémon X and Y there are various items that make it easier to train Pokémon. The most suitable item is the lucky egg, with which the experience points received are increased by 50 percent to the normal value.
- You can get the lucky egg in Tempera City. To do this, go to the hotel, which is located at the foot of the mountain on the lower level in the top right corner of the map.
- Show the lady in the hotel a Pokémon with a high friendship value and give her the lucky egg. In order for the lucky egg to work, you must hand the item over to the desired Pokémon.
Train several Pokémon at once thanks to the EP divider
If you want to train several Pokémon at once, the EP divider is suitable. You will automatically receive the basic item very early in the game.
- If you activate the EP divider, all Pokémon that did not take part in the battle also receive experience points. In Pokémon X and Y, for the first time in a row, the fighting Pokémon does not lose experience points through the EP divider. The EP divider is thus more effective and useful than ever.
- If the EP divider is activated, all non-fighting Pokémon in the team receive half of the experience points that the fighting Pokémon gets credited.
- Especially weak Pokémon, who are in the team and have no chance against stronger opponents, get massive experience points and can quickly rise to a level at which they are strong enough to fight themselves.
The right training place
Your Pokémon will receive the most experience points when you compete against strong opponents. For this reason, you should choose suitable training locations.
- The Victory Street is recommended to compete against average wild Pokémon. The Pokémon are up to a maximum of level 60. It is advisable to train with your own Pokémon until it has exceeded this level.
- If you have reached this limit, a frequent visit to the Pokémon League is recommended. Here the Pokémon are all above level 60. The opponents are a real challenge, but this is rewarded with a corresponding amount of experience points.
- If you have enough Pokedollar, you should definitely stop by the battle castle. Once you have achieved the highest title of Grand Duke, it is worth buying various invitation letters to increase the level of the opponents that appear.
- The black invitation letter for a whopping 300, 000 Pokedollar raises the levels of the opposing Pokémon by up to 20 levels. The strongest opponents therefore have Pokémon at level 80 and accordingly deliver high experience values.
- For another 100, 000 Pokedollars, you should buy the silver invitation letter. As a result, the opponents appear more often, so that you can train permanently in the battle castle.
For those who are comfortable, the Macgyver style
If you do not feel like fighting continuously and possibly have little time, you can create an automatic training mechanism with a little improvisation. All you need is a piece of paper.
- Bring the Pokémon to be trained to the Pokémon Pension. If a Pokémon is in the boarding house, he receives experience points for every step taken in the game.
- Now go to Illumina City and there to the Prisma Tower. Once there, jump on your bike.
- With the piece of paper, you can now fix the sliding pad so that your character moves in a circle around the tower. Experience points are credited to your Pokémon in the Pokémon Pension for each step.
- Now leave the 3DS untouched for a few hours and finally check the result. After three to four hours, your Pokémon should have risen by up to 50 levels depending on the level and type.
- Note that Pokémon are automatically taught new attacks at the boarding house and unlearn old ones. If you want your Pokémon to master the best attacks, this variant is certainly not suitable for you. You also have to pay 100 Poké Dollars for each level you pick up at pickup. So make sure you have enough money.
An important tip: Basically you get more experience points in trainer fights than against wild Pokémon. It is also best to try to combine the tips from the first three points and to stay at the three training locations mentioned in order to achieve the best result. However, you should be aware that, despite these tips, training your Pokémon is still a tedious and time-consuming undertaking. We only recommend the last variant to those who can arrange this lazy trick with your gambler conscience - true Pokémon trainers prefer to take care of their protégés themselves.
