Polar m400: How to reset
You can reset the Polar m400 GPS running watch in two different ways. This practical tip shows you how to proceed and which tools you need.
Polar m400: Perform a soft reset
If the clock has hung and no longer reacts to your user input, you can carry out a soft reset. That's how it's done:
- Press the "Up", "Down", "Light" and "Back" buttons simultaneously for the soft reset. Hold it down for five seconds.
- Then the boot animation appears and the clock starts as usual.
- This way your data will be preserved. You only have to reset the time if necessary.
Polar m400: Carry out a factory reset
A factory reset deletes all data from the watch. This can be useful, for example, if you want to sell the watch. Even if the soft reset cannot fix an error, you can still use this method. That's how it's done:
- For the factory reset you need the software Polar FlowSync, which you can find on the manufacturer's website.
- Install the software, start the program and connect your Polar m400 to your computer with a USB cable. The text "Polar M400 connected" then appears on the software interface.
- Then click on the small gear symbol at the bottom right and then the button "Reset to factory settings".
- Disconnect the clock from your PC after the reset and reconnect it. This automatically starts the PolarFlow web service, where you can log in with your previous login data.
- Now confirm the settings and select the "Done" button.
