Preparing fries in the pan: the best tips and tricks
If you don't have a deep fryer, you can also prepare fries in the pan. We give you some helpful tips.
Frying fries in the pan - you should note that
Whether homemade or bought fries - you can prepare both variants in the pan.
- Let a pan get hot at the highest setting. Depending on the pan thickness, this takes up to 10 minutes.
- Use an oil or fat that is suitable for high temperatures. Palmin or Biskin, as well as sunflower or rapeseed oil are ideal.
- Use enough oil. The bottom of the pan should at least be completely covered with oil. The more oil, the closer you get to the effect of the deep fryer.
- Fry the fries in small batches. You cannot prepare all fries directly like in the deep fryer. Load so much into the pan that the fries don't touch each other.
- Take out the fries and store them in the oven at 50 degrees, while frying the remaining fries.
Pan: Tips for homemade potato wedges
Making french fries yourself is easy and tasty if you follow a few tips.
- After you cut the fries, dab them with a kitchen towel. There should be as little moisture as possible on the potatoes for roasting.
- If you have a lot of preparation time, put the sliced fries in a cold water bath. This removes the starch and the end product becomes crispier.
