If registration in Postbank online banking does not work, the reason may be that Postbank has changed the registration process. This practical tip shows you how to fix the problem.
Problems registering in Postbank online banking
Since September 14, 2019, you can no longer register with Postbank for online banking as usual.
- The reason for this is that Postbank is merging the two platforms for online banking and online brokerage.
- You can no longer log in here with your account number and your PIN as before.
- Instead, you will be asked on the Postbank website in advance to set up a Postbank ID.
- The system will guide you through the setup procedure. You define a personal user name and a password for the future login.
- If you forget your password for the Postbank login, you can use this security procedure to reset your password and set a new one.
- Postbank also requires that a valid security procedure be set up. A login only with the ID does not work. You have to log in using a two-stage registration process.
- For example, you can set up BestSign at Postbank. If you then want to log in to Postbank, your ID will be requested first. Then you have to verify yourself with BestSign.
- This two-stage registration process is required when logging in both on the PC and from your mobile device. The verification via BestSign works both with its own PIN and with a fingerprint. You can specify the variant you prefer when setting up BestSign.
