Postbank: Have your account blocked - how it works
To protect your Postbank account if you have lost your card or it has been stolen, you should have it blocked. We'll show you how it's easiest.
Have the Postbank account blocked by phone
You can have your card blocked by telephone at Postbank around the clock. To do this, dial the number 0228 5500 5500 (fixed network tariff). Have the following information ready:
- Your name and address
- Your IBAN or account number and bank code
- Your phone pin for the voice dialog system. If you do not know the PIN, interrupt the system by saying "lock". You will then be connected to a consultant.
- Make a note of the time when the account is blocked.
Postbank account in the event of theft or misuse: inform the police
- If your card has been stolen, you should inform the police.
- If your card is misused, you are obliged to report it in addition to being blocked.
- Postbank will reimburse you for improper transactions if you have the card blocked, report the abuse and you have not acted with gross negligence.
