Postbank: cashing a check online - is that possible?
You cannot redeem a check online at Postbank, as the original check must be present at the bank. You must therefore send the check to Postbank by letter. We explain how this works and what you have to watch out for so that you don't incur any additional fees.
Submit check to Postbank - you have to be careful
At Postbank, it is not enough to simply put the check in an envelope and send it off. Instead, you need to consider a few things:
- First check that the check is signed.
- The amount of money must also be in numbers and words on the check.
- To be able to submit the check without processing fees, you must fill out a so-called post giro order.
- You can find a form for the post giro order in every Postbank branch.
- You can also get a post giro order using the contact form in online banking, by telephone banking, by fax or by letter.
- If you do not want to use a post giro order, you will find the costs that will be incurred in Postbank's price-performance directory.
