Print postcards yourself with Word
You can not only buy postcards, but also design and print them yourself using Word. We'll show you how it's done.
Step 1: Before printing - set up postcard in Word
We use Word 2013 in this guide. Under other versions, the individual functions may be arranged or titled differently.
- If you switch to the "Page layout" tab above, you will find all the necessary options under the "Page setup" category.
- First select the postcard size A6 under "Format". With the "Orientation you have the choice between portrait and landscape format.
- You can set the "page margins" to "narrow". If you want to work beyond this edge, you can also remove it completely.
- Now the lines for the address are still missing. To do this, switch to the "Insert" tab and select four rows and one column under "Table".
- Shrink the table to the size you want and put it in the right place. On the "Start" tab, you will find the "Margins" option in the "Paragraph" category. If you remove the margins on the left and right, four rows are created.
- If you want to create a field for the postage stamp, you can also use a table. Simply use a table with only one row and column.
Step 2: design and print the postcard in Word
- For the front of the postcard, you can select the A6 format as in the first paragraph.
- If you want to insert an image, set the page margins to 0. This is not absolutely necessary for smaller graphics or texts.
- Two-sided printable photo paper is best for printing. So that the postcard is also stable, it should weigh 360 to 400 grams per square meter.
