PowerPoint: insert and change bullets - how it works
How you insert and change bullets in PowerPoint is not always clear. We explain in individual steps how you create the key points and what options you have for more individuality.
PowerPoint: How to insert bullets
- Open your PowerPoint document and make sure that the normal view is selected under the "View" tab. If you have not changed this yourself, this is set by default.
- Go to the slide on which you want to create an enumeration.
- Insert a new text field. To do this, select the "Insert" tab and then click on "Text field".
- After you have created the text field, click the list icon. You can find this in the "Paragraph" section of the "Start" tab.
- If you now enter a text, a bullet will be created automatically.
Change quotation marks: set symbol, size and color
You can now customize your quotation marks: change the shape and color as you like.
- First click on the text box with the quotation marks.
- Next to the symbol for creating quotation marks (in the program bar) you will find a small arrow. Click on it to change the quotes.
- In the quick selection you will find other symbols that you can use as quotation marks. If you want to set your own symbol or change the color, carry out the following points.
- Instead of preselections, select "Numbering and bullets ..." from the context menu at the bottom. A small window opens in which you can change both the color and the size of the quotation mark.
- If you want to select your own symbol as a quotation mark, click on "Customize" and select your desired character. You can use the "Image" button to select your own graphics and logos as quotation marks.
If you work with the year in your PowerPoint document, you can use a timeline instead of quotation marks. In the next practical tip, we will explain how to create a timeline with PowerPoint.
