Powerpoint: compress images
Compress the pictures in PowerPoint presentations, reduce the file size and make it easier to send the presentation by email. We'll tell you how this works quickly and without a reduction in quality.
Compress PowerPoint images - how it works
- First click on the image whose file size is to be reduced.
- A new tab appears in the last place in the menu bar: "Picture Tools Format".
- Click on this and select the "Compress images" button in the bar under "Adjust".
- The "Compress image" menu then appears with various options:
- Here you decide what quality the images should have and whether you also want to optimize all other images in the presentation. With "Use document resolution" you reduce the image size to the DPI number defined under "File"> "Options"> "Advanced".
- If you also activate the "Delete cropped image areas" option, the parts of the image that are not required are deleted in the case of pre-cropped images.
- You must then confirm your modifications with "OK".
If you send your PowerPoint presentation via email, you can convert it into a PDF document. This can then be opened from almost any computer.
