Open PowerPoint presentation without PowerPoint

• With the free tool PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft you can play all PowerPoint formats.
• Since Office versions 2007, 2010 and 2013, the documents are mostly saved in the PPTX format instead of the old PPT. To be able to open such files, you also need the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack.
• With the PowerPoint Viewer you do not have to buy PowerPoint, you can also watch the presentations on your computer for free. Editing is not possible.

If you want to not only open the files, but also edit them, you can do this with the free Office alternatives OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
