Powerpoint: create a digital countdown
You can start your PowerPoint presentation with a countdown or dramatically improve parts of the presentation. We explain how this works in this practical tip.
Insert countdown in PowerPoint
For our example, we put a countdown at the beginning of the PowerPoint presentation. Unfortunately, you have to create the countdown manually, there is unfortunately no ready function for this.
- After you have determined the design of your PowerPoint presentation, add an impressively large number to your first slide. We start with 5 and put it in the middle.
- Copy the finished slide five times and count down to zero one after the other. Finally, you should have a total of six slides, each with a number from five to zero in the same place.
- Then select the "Transitions" tab, eg "Fade".
- Now activate all the slides you need for the countdown. To do this, simply click on the "number slides" with the pressed [Ctrl] key.
- Now go to the quick launch bar. There you deactivate the option "On mouse click" under "Next slide" and activate the option "To" (see picture). Finally, just enter the desired time and you have completed your digital countdown.
- Of course, you could also color the background or the numbers and then make them a little lighter or darker. Or maybe slowly fade in a background image with each number.
How you can add a background image to your PowerPoint presentation is described in the article "Powerpoint: Set image as background".
