Mac: Change the language in PowerPoint for individual text passages
If you want PowerPoint to set a different language for certain text passages, the following steps will help you:
- Mark the text on your slide.
- At the top of the ribbon, tap "Tools"> "Language ..." and select the new language there.
- Confirm by clicking "Ok".
Change language for PowerPoint globally on Mac
If you want to set PowerPoint in a different language for the entire set of slides, you will find a solution in the following section. The settings are only adopted for future presentations, so you can change existing passages using the explanation above.
- In addition to settings in the program, the Office package also checks the keyboard layout. So if you want to create an English slide set, you have to change your keyboard layout beforehand. We will tell you in another article how you can best do this.
- Start PowerPoint and click in a slide.
- Open the "Language ..." item in the "Tools" menu. Select the new language and choose "Standard ...".
- You will be asked whether you want to set the newly selected language as the default. Confirm this with "Yes".
- Restart PowerPoint.
- From now on, the program will check your text in the other language as long as you have activated the appropriate keyboard layout.
