Compress PowerPoint files
PowerPoint stores all of your presentation information, including embedded images and videos, in the PPTX files. The latter often turn out to be real memory guzzlers, which is why you can compress the image files.
- To do this, open the presentation to be reduced in PowerPoint.
- Then click on "File" at the top left and select the "Save As" entry.
- In the new window you will find the "Tools" button below. Select the "Compress images" entry from the dropdown menu that appears.
- A new window is opening up. Under "Target output" you can roughly determine the size of the file. If you want a presentation that is as small as possible, you should use the entries "E-Mail" or "Use document resolution".
- Confirm your selection with OK".
- Finally save the reduced file with "Save".
