Create PowerPoint presentations with OpenOffice
You can also use the free OpenOffice to create PowerPoint presentations. In this article we show you exactly how this works with the freeware tool.
The basics: How to create presentations with OpenOffice
- Download the free OpenOffice and open "Presentation".
- You then define the basic settings for the presentation in five steps, including colors and effects. Then click "Finish".
- Now you can insert texts, pictures and videos into the presentation: Use the given fields or add new text fields with [F2]. You can insert graphic elements via "Insert"> "Image" or "Video and Sound".
- To create new slides, click on "Insert"> "Page".
- You can set effects using the "Screen animation" tab.
Hold PowerPoint presentations with OpenOffice
- Press F5 to start the PowerPoint presentation.
- With "File"> "Export as PDF" you can save all slides as PDF documents.
- You can also print out the presentation as a handout. For this you have to switch to "Handout" under "Print" (see picture).
