Create a presentation without PowerPoint - how it works
A presentation can also be created without a PowerPoint. If you do not have a Microsoft Office, the free OpenOffice is also suitable for creating a presentation.
Create a presentation with OpenOffice
Download and install OpenOffice.
- Start OpenOffice and select "Presentation" in the start window.
- Select "Blank Presentation" and click "Next".
- In the following window you can select a presentation background and specify an output medium. Click "Next" again.
- In this window you can configure the slide transition of the presentation. You can also set up automatic slide changes. Then click on "Finish".
- The presentation work environment opens. You can add a new slide by right-clicking -> "New slide" in the "Slides" display. You can format texts and titles similar to PowerPoint or Word.
Another alternative to Microsoft Office and OpenOffice is the freeware LibreOffice. You can also use it to create presentations. In another practical tip you will read how to set a background for an OpenOffice presentation.
