Hold a presentation on an iPad - the best tips
Presentations can easily be given on an iPad - whether at work, at university or on private occasions. Why via iPad? The iPad is ready to go, can be taken anywhere and also makes a good visual impression. But there are a few things to keep in mind when presenting via iPad.
Presentation via iPad: The right hardware
How to present your presentation with the iPad:
- Give a presentation with the iPad in front of one, two or max. three people? You can use the iPad without accessories and as an output medium. Especially if you have the iPad 4 with Retina display, your presentation will be displayed well thanks to the display. With a small group of people, everyone just sits around the table around the iPad.
- If you're giving a presentation to a larger audience on iPad, you need accessories. In many conference rooms or lecture halls, projectors or widescreen TVs are installed. At Apple itself, you can buy the so-called "Lightning to VGA adapter". This forwards everything that is shown on the iPad display to the external screen. But be careful: the Lightning adapter is only compatible for the iPad 4 or iPad mini.
- If you are using an older iPad, this adapter helps you to display a presentation on an HD TV or HDMI-capable display.
- As a separate note: When buying accessories, please make sure that the adapter fits the display / projector! There are HDMI projectors, VGA projectors, etc. Here it is important that you inform yourself about the connection type of your output medium before the presentation.
Presentation via iPad: The right software
In addition to the right hardware, you also need the right software:
- Apple's own iPad app "Keynote" is well suited to both creating and demonstrating presentations. Click here for the Keynote app.
- You can also use Microsoft Powerpoint in the classic way. The app is free for iOS devices and provides basic functions for editing and presenting.
