If you use Instagram, your profile is automatically accessible to the public. However, if you set your privacy correctly, you can revoke it. We'll show you how it's done.
Instagram privacy: Show posts only for approved followers
To keep your photos and videos on Instagram private, you can activate a function that allows you to confirm followers. This means that only approved people can see your posts. However, this is also the only privacy setting that Instagram provides.
- Open the Instagram app on your iOS device or Android smartphone.
- Click the business card icon at the bottom right of the screen.
- Next to your profile picture you will find the button "Edit your profile".
- Scroll down and activate the "Posts are private" function.
- New followers have to be confirmed first. Existing subscribers are not affected. Your profile is now blocked for the public. You can only find this via your user name or your email address and will then only see your profile picture.
