Sky Q: Solving problems yourself or with customer service
Not every user is happy with the update to Sky Q. Problems can occur on the receiver both immediately after and during the update or some time later. If so, you have several options:
- First you should restart the Sky-Q receiver. Small bugs in the buffer are fixed. To do this, press and hold the reset button on the back of the device for five seconds.
- If the Sky Receiver no longer starts or keeps hanging up, you should reset the receiver to the factory settings. This usually solves software problems; however, all personal settings are lost.
- If you didn't install an update to Sky Q automatically, but manually, Sky on Demand and the Sky Store no longer work. In this case, customer service access must be activated. The contact details can be found in the second paragraph.
- Also check all connections between TV and receiver. It is best to unplug all cables from the receiver and reconnect them.
- Then take a look at the settings on your TV. You can select the correct HDMI input using the "Input" or "Source" button.
- For all other issues, you can also contact Sky customer service. Smaller problems are also solved in the Sky Forum.
