Viber problems - you can do that
Viber offers free calls via Android and Co. However, sometimes the app causes problems. We have summarized what you can do in such a case here.
Solve problems with the Viber app on Android
- First of all, if you have problems with Viber, you should make sure that you are using the latest version of the app.
- Clearing cache and app data solves most Viber problems on Android. However, please note that this will completely reset the app: Go to "App" in the Android settings, select "Viber"> "Storage" and tap on "Clear data".
- If you have not given the Viber app the necessary permissions, it cannot work properly. To do this, go to the Android settings and select "App"> "Viber"> "Permissions". Make sure that all options are activated here.
- If you just no longer receive any notifications from Viber, you should check the corresponding settings: To do this again, go to the Android settings, select "App"> "Viber"> "Notifications". If necessary, switch off the blocking of the notifications and the silent mode here.
Other approaches
- Since Viber uses your smartphone's internet connection, there may be transmission problems in the event of network problems or weak WLAN. Make sure that you currently have a sufficient data rate. This can be done either through apps like Speedtest.net or the corresponding websites.
- Occasionally, Viber's data servers may be offline and you may not be able to make calls. The best way to check the current status is on the website of All Faults.
- If you still have problems with Viber, you can also contact customer service. However, this is currently only possible in English, Japanese or Russian.
By the way: You can hide your online status in Viber at any time. You can read how this works in the next practical tip.
