Check the program for viruses - how it works
If you suspect that a program is infected by a virus, you can check it manually for viruses with various virus scanners.
Check program for viruses with Antivir
Antivir is one of many virus scanners that you can use to manually check programs for viruses.
- Right-click on the downloaded program.
- Select "Check selected files with Avira".
- The check starts immediately and shows results immediately.
Run the tool without a background guard
If you use a virus scanner that you cannot use to manually check programs and files for viruses, install Bitdefender, for example. Click on the Bitdefender icon in the task bar and deactivate the virus shield. So the tool does not get in the way of your previously used virus scanner.
- Right click on the downloaded program.
- Select "Scan with Bitdefender".
- You can read the result of the scan in Bitdefender. To do this, click on the Bitdefender icon in the task bar and read there on "On Demand Scanner".
- The results of the scan are listed under "Details".
