Start programs with a batch file - how it works
Alternatively, programs can also be started using a batch file. Read in this practical tip how to do this.
Start programs using a batch file - so it'll work
- First open the Windows editor. You can find this under "All Programs"> "Accessories".
- In our example we want to start the Firefox browser. To do this, add the following to the editor: start "" "C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \ firefox.exe"
- Then save the document. To the right of the name, however, select the "All files" option and then save it under Firefox.bat.
- Then open the Windows command prompt. You can also find these under "All Programs"> "Accessories".
- First use the "cd folder" command to change to the folder in which the batch file is located. For example: "cd Desktop" if the file is on the desktop.
- Then enter the command "Programm.bat" to start the batch file. Replace the name "program" with the name of your batch file.
- The respective program is then started.
