Use Proton VPN on Android: Here's how

In this practical CHIP tip, we show you how you can easily use ProtonVPN on your Android smartphone.
ProtonVPN: Download the app and configuration files
First you have to download a special VPN app and a suitable configuration file. We also show you all the steps in our picture gallery at the end of the article.
- First download "OpenVPN" from the Google Play Store.
- Open your ProtonVPN dashboard.
- In the "OpenVPN configuration" section, select "Android" as the platform and "UDP" as the protocol.
- Finally, click on the download button of the server that is closest to you.

The next step is to set up the OpenVPN app correctly on your Android smartphone.
- Start the OpenVPN app on your Android smartphone and click on the Import button.
- Now select your downloaded configuration file and click on the save button.

Now you can connect to the VPN network.
- Press the profile you just created and "OK" to connect.
- Now enter your ProtonVPN user data (user name and password) and press "OK" again.
