PS 4: Use PS Vita as a second screen
The PlayStation Vita can be connected to the PS4 for use as a second screen. We will show you how to connect the two devices and activate the function.
Use PS Vita as a second screen for your Playstation 4
If you use your PS Vita as a second screen for your PlayStation 4, you can operate menus with your Vita and additional information such as maps or inventories is displayed in selected games.
- Make sure that your PlayStation Vita has at least firmware version 3.00 or higher.
- Start your PS4 and open the settings. Move to the menu item "PS Vita connection settings" and check the option "Activate remote play".
- Activate the option "Connect directly to PS Vita" so that your PS4 and Vita automatically determine the best possible connection type. If you have problems with the connection, deactivate this option again.
- Now start your PlayStation Vita and open the "PS4 shortcut" app. Now select the "Second screen" option.
- When connecting for the first time, you will be shown a code on the PS4, which you must now enter and confirm on your PlayStation Vita.
You can also use your smartphone instead of a PS Vita. We'll show you how to connect the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation app and use it as a second screen.
