Connecting a PlayStation 2 controller to the PS3 is easy. All you need is the right adapter. We'll tell you what to look out for.
Connect the PS2 controller to the PS3 with an adapter
Among other things, Sony's video game consoles impress with the same controller structure. It should be possible to connect the old devices to the new consoles. Of course, it is not quite as simple as the PS3 controllers are connected via USB. That's why you need an adapter that converts the PS2 connector into a classic USB port.
Not all controller adapters are the same
With every generation of consoles, hardware and software continue to evolve, so it is not enough to simply plug the signals into the USB socket using any adapter. Keys are then often assigned incorrectly or do not work at all. Therefore, when buying an adapter, pay more attention than usual to customer reviews and the consoles used. Another big difference between PlayStation 2 and 3 controllers is the PlayStation button, which is not available on the older controller. This function should exist or at least be navigable. An adapter that meets these requirements and is still very popular is the reasonably priced Logic3. With LED lights, it even shows you which player is using the PlayStation 2 controller.
