Play on Sony's Xperia with a dual-shock controller
Since the release of the Xperia SP (June 2013), all Sony smartphones in the Xperia range have been equipped with software that allows you to connect DualShock controllers on the PlayStation 3 wirelessly to your smartphone - without any root. Here's how to do it:
- First go to the settings menu of the mobile phone and then click on "Xperia Connectivity".
- Now you can tap on "Connect a controller" to a setup wizard.
- You will be asked to connect the controller to your Xperia device using a USB adapter cable.
- If the device is paired with the controller, you must disconnect the cable connection again in order to be able to use the controller wirelessly.
- Bluetooth now switches on automatically on your mobile phone and you can complete the pairing by tapping "Finish".
- To be able to play wirelessly with your controller from now on, all you have to do is activate Bluetooth on your Xperia phone and press the PS button on the controller.
