PS3: The game console has these connections
If you want to buy a PlayStation 3, you should first check all connections of the PS3. We show you which cables you need for which connections.
PlayStation 3: The connectors on the front
Note: The structure of the PS3 Slim is slightly different.
- USB: At the bottom left of the front you will find a total of 4 USB ports. Here you can connect and charge the controllers and use the mouse, keyboard and external hard drives.
- Card reader: Above the USB connections you will find connections for a MemoryStick-Duo, as well as for SD and CompactFlash cards. These are hidden under a flap.
- CD / DVD: You will also find the drive on the front. Here CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays are read.
PlayStation 3: The connectors on the back
- HDMI: On the back you will find an HDMI connection with the standard 1.3a. This is no longer the latest standard, but it still transfers the full power of the PS3.
- LAN: The LAN connection of the PlayStation 3 is state of the art and ensures fast Internet connections.
- Digital audio output: With the optical digital output (SPDIF) you can play back the sound with Dolby Digital 5.1.
- AV Multi-Out: If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, you can also use the classic AV cable.
- Power connection: Not to be forgotten: Of course, the power connection should not be missing.
