Send in PS3 - so you can have the console repaired
If your PS3 console is defective, you can conveniently collect it from home and send it in for repair. In this practical tip, we explain step by step how exactly you have to have your Playstation 3 repaired.
Send in your PS3 console and have it repaired
To ensure that you cannot fix the fault on your PS3 yourself, you should first contact PSN customer service for professional help. If they cannot help you with your problem or you cannot fix the damage yourself, you must send in your PS3 if necessary. To do this, proceed as follows:
- First go to Sony's hardware support homepage on the Internet.
- Then indicate that you have a problem with the Sony "Playstation 3" product and then select your PS3 model version.
- Before you click "Send", you have to enter the serial number of your PS3.
- Then fill in a corresponding form with your personal details, a description of the technical problem and the preferred pick-up day. Submit the form.
- You will receive an email with an attached service form, which you should put in a box with your defective PS3.
- On the day of collection, your package will be received by the supplier and you will receive a delivery note. If you are not present, you have to bring your box to the post yourself.
- Your Playstation 3 will now be sent in, repaired or exchanged and sent back to you.
If your PS3 crashes frequently, you should reset your console to its original factory settings. You can find out how to do this in our next article.
