PS4: How to confirm your age in the PSN

In order to top up your Playstation Network (PSN) account, you must verify your age. The same also applies to downloading PS4 games from the store. We'll show you how to confirm your age and what you need to do it.
PS4: Confirmation of age in the PSN with an old ID
In order to confirm your age in the German PSN, you need a valid German ID document. These include the German identity card and the German passport. Foreign and temporary documents are not accepted. Generally, you only have to verify your age once; Your PSN account will then be permanently released for credits and game downloads. With the old ID or passport, proceed as follows:
- Document number: You will find it on the front left below. Enter the first number (10 digits) from the second line. Leave the "D" out at the end.
- Date of birth: Enter the second number (7 digits) from the second line here.
- Expiration date: This is the third number from the second line (7 digits).

Confirm age in PSN - new ID card
The difference with the new ID card is that you can find the required numbers on the back in the lower half.
- Document number: Enter the number-letter combination (10 digits) from the first line. It starts after "IDD <<".
- Date of birth: The first number (7 digits) from the second line is requested here.
- Expiry date: This refers to the second number (7 digits) from the second line. Leave the "D" out at the end.
