Use PS4 controllers under Mac OS X - how it works
You can use your PS4 controller not only on the console, but also under Mac OS X. Connection and setup are not that difficult. We show you how it works.
Connect the PS4 controller to the Mac via USB
The easiest way to connect the PS4 controller to the Mac is via micro USB:
- Connect the controller to the Mac using the USB cable.
- OS X recognizes the device automatically. The LED lightbar on the controller lights up. No further configuration is necessary.
How to connect the PS4 controller to Mac OS X via Bluetooth
If you are disturbed by the USB cable, connect the controller to the Mac via Bluetooth. The PS4 controller uses the standard Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR specification and is therefore compatible with Macs from year of construction 2008.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your Mac. You can activate it in the "System Settings" under "Bluetooth".
- Press the SHARE and PS buttons on the controller simultaneously until the light bar flashes white. The controller is now in paring mode.
- The PS4 controller should now appear in the Mac's Bluetooth device list. Click on "Connect", the light bar on the controller stops flashing and you can also play your games on the Mac with the PS4 controller.
