PS4 controller does not connect: proposed solutions
If the controller does not connect, you have the following options to solve the problem:
- Connection : Remove the controller from the USB cable, switch off the PlayStation completely and disconnect the device from the power. Reconnect the console to the power supply, plug the controller into the USB cable and restart the PlayStation.
- Wireless connection : If you don't have a suitable cable at hand, you can also connect the controller wirelessly. To do this, another controller must be connected to the PS4. In the "Settings" go to "Devices" and "Bluetooth devices". If an entry already exists, delete it. Then press and hold the PlayStation and Share button for 10 seconds. Then the wireless connection is established.
- Reset : On the back of the controller you will find a small hole in the top right. Push in a toothpick, paper clip or ballpoint pen for a few seconds. The controller is reset and can then be reconnected.
- Replacement : Change both the controller and the cable to find the cause of the problem. In many cases, the USB cable can wear out quickly.
- Unscrew : If you still haven't found the error, you can unscrew the controller and search for errors. Some users report loose cable connections.
- Repair : As a last resort, you still have the repair at a specialist or the manufacturer's warranty.
