PS4: firmware downgrade - does it work?
If you want to return to an older firmware version on your PS4, you can do so by downgrading. We show you in which cases a downgrade is possible.
Firmware downgrade on PlayStation 4
- Unfortunately, what was still possible on PlayStation 3 no longer works on PlayStation 4. A firmware downgrade is usually not feasible.
- If you have installed the latest firmware, there is no going back. There is currently no way to undo the downgrade lock.
- If you have installed a beta version for the PS4, you can downgrade to the last official version. To do this, open the "System Software Update" category in "Settings".
