PS4: listening to music while playing - is that possible?
Since firmware 2.0, you can play and listen to your own music in the background while playing on the PS4. We'll show you how.
PS4: How to listen to music while playing
- The PS4 currently only supports the audio formats MP3 and AAC. If you have your music in another format, you can convert it with the "Freemake Audio Converter".
- To ensure that the USB stick is recognized by the PS4, format it in the FAT32 format.
- In the main directory, create a folder called "MUSIC" and store your songs here.
- Now connect the USB stick to the PS4, open it in the main menu and start a desired title.
- Switch back to the main menu and start a game. If the music is now switched off, you only have to deactivate the sound in the game and start the music again via the PS4 menu.
Listen and play music: Spotify on PS4
- Set up Spotify on PS4, you can also listen to your music on the console. Note, however, that not every game allows music to be played.
- If you press and hold the PlayStation button on the controller, the quick menu opens. Here you can change the volume and change songs at any time. Alternatively, you can also control playback via the Spotify app on your smartphone.
