PS4: Change password for sub-account
You can change the password for a sub-account in the settings of your PS4. The sub-account owner or owner of the main account can set the new password. Our guide will tell you how it works.
Change PS4 password as sub-account owner
If you want to set up a new password for security reasons, this is not a problem within the settings of your PS4. However, you have to remember your old password.
- Start your PS4 and log in with your user account.
- Now press up on your directional pad or the left stick (L3) and start the menu item "Settings".
- Then select "PSN" and then "Account information".
- Next press "Password" and first enter your old password. Then you have to type in your new password and then press "Confirm".
- The new password is now set up and can be used the next time you log in.
Forgot Password? Password change through the main account
If you can no longer remember your password, the owner of the main account must set up a new password. After the change, log in as usual with the sub-account and the new password.
- Log in with the linked main account and then press up on your directional pad or the left stick (L3).
- Now navigate in the menu on the right and open the "Settings".
- Here you select "Parental Control" and then "Sub-Account Management".
- Press the sub-account whose password you want to change. In the next window, select "Subaccount password" and configure a new password now.
- Then press "Confirm". The next login with your sub-account is now with the new password.
This practical tip will tell you how to save your saved games to an online memory on your PS4.
