Open PST file without Outlook: Here's how
PST files are usually opened with Outlook. You can also use the format without the appropriate Microsoft program. We'll tell you how to do it.
How to open PST files without Outlook
- The extension PST stands for containers from Microsoft Exchange or Outlook. These archive files contain, for example, information about contacts or e-mail directories for these programs.
- If you do not purchase a license for Microsoft Outlook, but want to open PST files, you can use the 30-day trial version, for example.
- Alternatively, you can use Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus. Although this version is no longer officially offered, you can still download the respective programs with our download.
- Another option to open PST files is the free tool "Coolutils Outlook Viewer". The advantage: Outlook does not have to be installed. The software also allows you to change the file format to EML. This means that you can also use the containers in other e-mail programs.
Do you also have problems with other Outlook file formats? With MsgViewer you can open MSG files from Outlook without having to install the Microsoft program.
